Description

A superb and historically significant piece of World War II Pacific Theater gear, this is an original United States Marine Corps USMC P-41 Herringbone Twill HBT Utility Jacket. This rugged and iconic garment was the workhorse uniform for Marines, seeing extensive service throughout the island-hopping campaigns. The jacket is definitively identified as the P-41 pattern by its construction from the distinctive olive drab Herringbone Twill fabric and its classic three-pocket configuration, featuring one patch pocket on the left breast and two patch pockets at the hips. Crucially, the jacket retains its bold, original black stenciled USMC and Eagle, Globe, and Anchor EGA markings on the upper left breast pocket, a highly desirable feature. All buttons are the correct metal type stamped with U.S. MARINE CORPS, confirming its authenticity and period issue. This piece exhibits light wear and fading consistent with field use but remains in overall excellent, crisp condition, making it a cornerstone artifact for any collection of WWII USMC militaria.
