Lot 282:
Description
Includes uniforms he was issued before and during his time in Vietnam. He entered service in 1969 and served until 1999. When he landed in Vietnam he was originally assigned to CCN, but when he arrived he was told that his place had been taken by another. He then was assigned to the Individual Training Group program and ended up with FANK training the Khmer. He is shown wearing his FANK beret flash on his beret. He ran the mission programs of Cambodian troops being trained and tested against the NVA. He was assigned to Camp B-36 and was also in charge of A-Team, A-363. His call sign was -Duster 66-.
The pin on pocket hanger with bow, on his sterile set of fatigues, is the Cambodian 12TH Brigade of the 9TH Infantry of which he was an Advisor and combatant with. The other pocket hanger was a badge he was given to enter the Cambodian Capital Palace. Besides the 2 jungle jackets there are a couple of other shirts, some insignia removed. The loose patches include his pin on Cambodian Airborne pocket patch, pin now missing from the back, as well as a second patch with an interesting story. The green labels were filled out and put on by this Officer. The Tiger patch was given to him by a Cambodian in that unit. Their base allowed families to live with them. The NVA and VC overran their base and wiped out everyone, including the families, so the unit ceased to exist at that point. The NVA buckle was an item he captured, and the South Vietnamese flag was one of his bring back trophies. The photos are not originals; he is retaining those
