Description

This is an original U.S. military B-8 pattern flight control stick grip, a standard component utilized during the Cold War and Vietnam War eras. This specific pattern was widely integrated into various fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, including the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II, Lockheed F-104 Starfighter, and the Bell UH-1 Iroquois Huey. The grip is constructed from a molded black composite resin with an ergonomic right-hand design featuring cross-hatched texturing on the palm and finger-groove surfaces. The control interface consists of a red four-way coolie hat style trim switch at the apex, a red push-button on the upper left marked INT, a red push-button on the side housing marked RADIO, and a red two-stage trigger on the front face. White printed nomenclature on the housing includes RADIO, GUN, TRIGGER, and 2ND POS. The top thumb switch retains partial white lettering reading E V, likely for ELEV. A white stamped Department of Defense inspection mark featuring a spread-winged eagle is visible on the base flange, alongside a partially legible alphanumeric marking SM-21.
