Description
A Vietnam War-era squad radio communication set manufactured by the Delco Radio Division of General Motors Corporation. This set includes an AN/PRT-4A hand-held transmitter and an AN/PRR-9 helmet-mounted receiver, both produced under a 1967 Department of the Army contract. The transmitter unit features a two-channel selector labeled CH-1 and CH-2, a Tone/Voice toggle switch, and a top-mounted Off dial. It is fitted with an AS-199/PRT extendable whip antenna. The receiver unit is designed with a specialized bracket for helmet attachment and includes a spring-loaded antenna base, lanyard, and hook. Also included is a BA-399/U dry battery manufactured by Union Carbide Corporation (Eveready), which bears a 1981 contract date and remains in its original sealed plastic packaging.The transmitter identification plate is marked: TRANSMITTING SET, RADIO AN/PRT-4 A, SERIAL NO. 15449, DELCO RADIO DIV.
