Description
Manufactured by F. W. Assmann and Soehne of Ludenscheid, this Luftwaffe Enlisted Man / NCO belt buckle is of one-piece aluminum construction. The obverse features a pebbled face with a central oval wreath of oak leaves containing a second-pattern Luftwaffe flying eagle clutching a swastika. The buckle is attached to its original black leather tab with period stitching. The leather tab is marked with a recessed shield-shaped stamp for the manufacturer F. W. Assmann and Soehne, Ludenscheid, and is dated 1939. The reverse side includes the original aluminum prong bar and catch assembly.
