Description
A WWII German M40 Heer Army combat helmet manufactured by Eisenhuettenwerke, Thale. The steel shell features the characteristic integral stamped ventilation holes and a rolled rim. The exterior is finished in textured Feldgrau paint and features a single Heer eagle decal on the left side. The interior neck flare is stamped with the maker and size code ET64. The rear interior apron displays hand-painted white soldier identification including the name Prusse and the number 430, with a secondary partially illegible name beginning with the letters Schm. The helmet retains its original eight-finger leather liner and metal liner band, secured with a coarse cord drawstring. The leather chin strap is embossed with the manufacturer mark Stubbe Berlin and is dated 1940.
