Description
United States Air Force Type K-2B very light flying suit manufactured by Covington Industries, Inc. The garment is constructed from sage green cotton and synthetic blend fabric and features a full-length central zipper closure. It is equipped with multiple zippered utility pockets located on the chest, thighs, and lower legs, along with a specialized cigarette and pen pocket on the left upper sleeve. The waist and sleeve cuffs include button-tab adjustments. The interior neck area contains an original sewn-in manufacturer label with the following information: Suit, Flying, Man’s, Very Light, K-2B, Stock No. 8415-265-7380, Size Large Short, Spec. MIL-S-6265D and Amend. 2 (USAF), Covington Industries, Inc., DSA-1-3652-64-C, Dated 9 January 1964. The suit is adorned with several subdued embroidered patches on an olive drab background including a name tape for Anderson on the right chest and a U.S. Air Force branch tape on the left chest. Centered above the branch tape is a Command Pilot wing insignia featuring a star and wreath over a shield. Each shoulder displays the rank insignia of a Lieutenant Colonel (O-5) depicted as an oak leaf.
