Description
This is a clockwork toy train set manufactured by Louis Marx and Company under the MarLines brand. The set is themed after the New York Central railroad and is constructed from lithographed tinplate. The collection includes a streamlined locomotive in the Commodore Vanderbilt style, a coal tender, and two additional train cars. Each piece features printed graphics, including the text New York Central. The tender and one of the train cars display the MarLines circular logo with the letters MAR inside. A separate metal T-handle winding key is included to operate the internal clockwork mechanism. The pieces are assembled using traditional tab-and-slot construction typical of mid-century tin toys.
