This collection consists of four vintage American tobacco containers, including two cloth pouches and two paper-wrapped packages, dating from the early to mid-20th century. The Marconi Brand Tobacco package, produced by the Italian Cigar – Tobacco Co., Inc. of New York, features a paper wrapper with a portrait of Guglielmo Marconi and a red promotional notice on the reverse with a 1937 expiration date. The Old Hill Side Smoking Tobacco item is a cloth drawstring pouch from the R.C. Owen Co. of Gallatin, Tennessee, featuring an applied paper label with the slogan All Quality. No Style. The Our Advertiser Smoking Tobacco pouch is manufactured by the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, featuring a wrap-around dark blue paper label with the RJR trademark. The Sweet Mist Bright Fine-Cut package is a paper-wrapped block from the Scotten, Dillon Company of Detroit, Michigan. Various United States internal revenue stamps are visible across the items, including 1/2 ounce and 1 1/2 ounce denominations.
