Description
A pair of two antique silver-tone metal pocket cases, likely utilized as vesta cases or small cigarette cases. The first case features a rectangular form with rounded corners and is decorated with a repouss? design of alternating horizontal bands featuring smooth polished surfaces and detailed floral and foliate scrollwork. The second case is of a similar rectangular form with rounded corners, embellished with an all-over engine-turned vermicelli scrolling pattern. Both items are constructed from a silver-colored metal, which may be sterling silver or a silver-plated base metal. The cases feature visible hinge pins on the side edges. No maker marks or metal purity hallmarks are legible on the exterior surfaces of either case.
