Description
A German World War II era Leuchtpistole 42 (LP42) single-shot break-action flare pistol manufactured by Erma-Werke. The left side of the frame is stamped with the manufacturer code ayf above the production year 42, along with the serial number 2109 j. The right side of the frame features three Waffenamt inspection marks consisting of an eagle over the numbers 280 and a separate German eagle proof mark. The firearm is constructed with a stamped steel frame and a single smoothbore barrel chambered for standard 26.5mm flares. It is fitted with two-piece checkered black synthetic Bakelite grips and retains its original lanyard ring at the base of the frame. The action is manually operated via the trigger-guard lever which breaks the action for loading.
