Description
This lot consists of a collection of United States military .50 caliber BMG (Browning Machine Gun) ammunition, joined by steel metallic disintegrating links of the M2/M9 style. The belt contains approximately 30 cartridges. Several projectiles feature black-painted tips, identifying them as Armor-Piercing (AP) rounds. The cartridges feature various headstamps from major World War II era manufacturers. Markings include FA for Frankford Arsenal dated 1937 and 1941, with one example marked CAL 50. Other headstamps include LC for Lake City Ordnance Plant dated 1941, 1942, and 1943, and TW for Twin Cities Ordnance Plant dated 1942. The primers on the majority of the casings show center-fire indentations, indicating the rounds are spent casings re-assembled with projectiles for display purposes.
