Description
This item is a German World War I Model 1915 Diskushandgranate, commonly known as the Turtle grenade. It is an inert offensive hand grenade characterized by its unique disc-shaped body, constructed from two convex heavy-gauge steel plates joined at the perimeter. The design features six cylindrical ports distributed around the edge intended for the insertion of ignition tubes. One port retains a brass screw cap incised with the letter S, signifying the Sicher or safe position. Another port retains a circular metal attachment ring. The internal components of the fuse wells are constructed of brass. This item consists of the hollow metal casing only and is a deactivated historical relic.
