A Luftwaffe winter flight helmet grouping consisting of a model LKpW101 flying helmet, flight goggles, and extensive biographical documentation. The helmet is a winter-pattern Fliegerhaube manufactured by Siemens-Apparate- und Maschinenbau G.m.b.H. The exterior is constructed of dark brown leather panels with integrated ear cups. The interior is fully lined with natural-colored lambskin for cold-weather insulation. The helmet retains its original wiring loom, connectors, and internal communication speakers. A woven white fabric label is sewn into the interior lining and contains the following information: Baumuster: LKpW101, Ger?t-Nr. 124-436 A, Herst. 266, and Siemens-Apparate- und Maschinen G.m.b.H. A red ink Bauaufsicht Luft (BAL) inspection stamp is also present on the label. The interior lambskin lining features handwritten ink inscriptions identifying the pilot as Gottfried P. Dulias and his unit as JG 53.The accompanying flight goggles feature dark-tinted lenses set into a grey leather and fabric facepiece with an elasticized strap. Also included is a black bakelite-housed component from the communication or oxygen assembly. The lot is accompanied by a two-page typewritten biography titled Course of life of: Gottfried P. Dulias, dated September 1998 and signed by Dulias. This document details his service as a fighter pilot with Jagdgeschwader 53 Pik As (Ace of Spades) flying the Messerschmitt Bf 109G, his five confirmed air victories, and his experience being shot down by Soviet ground fire on March 4, 1945, near Lake Balaton, Hungary. The biography further describes his three-year imprisonment in Soviet POW camps and his 1953 emigration to the United States.
