Description
This is a United States Marine Corps P-53 pattern utility jacket dating to the Korean War era, approximately 1953 to 1955. The garment is constructed from Olive Drab herringbone twill fabric featuring a distinct diagonal weave. The design includes two large patch pockets on the chest with rectangular flaps and clipped corners, each secured by a button. The jacket features a button-front closure and single-button barrel cuffs. Notable markings include a black stenciled USMC Eagle, Globe, and Anchor emblem positioned above the letters USMC on the left breast pocket. Both sleeves are marked with stenciled Sergeant rank chevrons. A faint rectangular area is visible in the interior neck where a contract label was originally located, though no text is currently legible.
