Description
This bodice is truly unusual. Based on the original sleeves – included – the bodice was sewn in the early to mid 1860s but based on the slimmer, embellished pagoda sleeves and lace false sleeves attached to the bodice, the style marks it as 1870s. The waistline marks it as 1860s while the straight, detatchable belt marks it as 1870s. A true and surprising surviving example of recycling in fashion
