Description
Aproximately 20 photos. Early German Army pics. This is a period-authentic German Heer (Army) photo album dated 1935. The exterior is constructed of olive-green cloth over boards. The front cover features a silver-toned embossed national emblem (Hoheitszeichen) depicting an eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed swastika. The album utilizes a cord-binding system with a decorative tricolor tassel in the national colors of black, white, and red. The interior contains heavy gray cardstock pages. One featured page contains five black-and-white photographs with deckle edges. A handwritten inscription in white ink reads Ohrdruf Dez 1935, referring to the military training ground (Truppenubungsplatz) in Thuringia. Photographic subjects include Heer personnel in various settings, including a soldier at a desk in a field tunic and visor cap, soldiers in a mess hall environment, and personnel in field gear with steel helmets (Stahlhelm).
