Description
US Navy APH-5 flight helmet and MS22001 oxygen mask assembly. The helmet is constructed of a fiberglass shell with a single, internally mounted tinted visor. The exterior features a custom geometric high-visibility paint scheme in red, orange, and white. The visor housing includes a blue plastic locking knob marked L-H THREAD with directional arrows. The interior is fitted with brown leather padding and black foam ear cup surrounds. Hand-inked markings on the interior crown read …chaels VAH-3 and Sanford – Fla, attributing the helmet to a crew member of Heavy Attack Squadron Three (VAH-3) while stationed at Naval Air Station Sanford, Florida. The paired MS22001 oxygen mask includes a grey rubber facepiece, integrated microphone, and a corrugated rubber oxygen hose. The assembly is completed with a multi-pin communication plug and oxygen connector.
